Top Ten Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2014 (Series Edition!)

Okay so I may do another one of these with books that are NOT in a series, but I have read so many amazing series this year, I couldn't split the votes between sequels and standalones coming out in 2014! So, here are my top ten FAVORITE series that I'm looking forward to in 2014!!
Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3)

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi-This series...just wow. I am head over heels in love with Warner and I can't wait for more of it!
Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky, #3)

Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi-I've already discussed why I NEED this book in my Waitin' on Wednesday post, but I'll say it again. I LOVE THIS SERIES AND PERRY AND ARIA AND ROAR AND ROAR AGAIN. That is all.

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)
City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare-I honestly don't feel like I need to say more. If you haven't read these books, go read them and either hop on the bandwagon or don't but if you do, YOU UNDERSTAND WHY THE WORLD MUST HAVE THIS BOOK! :)

The Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave, #2)
The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey-The 5th Wave was friggin AMAZING. This post apocalyptic world is so realistic, it freaks me out! I've gotta know what happens in this series, if we're gonna have a coexistence thing or what but I'VE GOTTA KNOW!

Silver Shadows (Bloodlines, #5)
Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead-The Fiery Heart left me…I don’t even know. Besides the fact that I am madly in love

The Retribution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #3)
The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin-I’m not even going to accept the ending of The Evolution of Mara Dyer (it’s not going to even be discussed!) because I am in full blown denial! We were left with a pretty interesting cliffhanger and I’m excited to see how it all plays out! BTW, I looooove all of the characters in this series so I just can’t wait for more!

The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus, #5)
The Blood of Olympus-I canNOT get enough of Rick Riordan, his world, and his characters! I know I'm just going to LOVE this series finale, but I'm going to be DEVASTATED to see it end :'(

Cress (Lunar Chronicles, #3)
Cress-Marissa Meyer has done something wonderful with fairytales. She is able to take stories that have been told over and over again and make them soo original and amazing and I can't wait for more!

Untitled (The Darkest Minds, #3)
Untitled(The Darkest Minds #3) by Alexandra Bracken-Oh these books, how they are so underrated! The covers have been great and the stories even better! I can’t wait to find out more about IAAN and I can’t wait for a reunion with Zu (which better happen!) Also, WHAT IS THE TITLE GOING TO BE?!?! EWXJNHKRHINIHJK!!!

Untitled (Penryn and the End of Days, #3)
Untitled(Angelfall #3) by Susan Ee-I had a bit of a difficult time with World After, after LOVING Angelfall, but now that Raffe is back, I KNOW we’re going to be looking at an amazing series finale!

For the books I forgot or the books I have not read yet that have 2014 sequel releases, I'm sorry! Happy Reading :)

Ruby Red
by Kerstin Gier

Book synopsis from Goodreads:
Gwyneth Shepherd's sophisticated, beautiful cousin Charlotte has been prepared her entire life for traveling through time. But unexpectedly, it is Gwyneth, who in the middle of class takes a sudden spin to a different era! Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon--the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.

I've had this book for soo long but haven't had the chance to read it until a couple days ago and I was hooked!  I gave this book five stars on goodreads. The plot was so fascinating and I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! Like any story dealing with time travel, there were some plot holes. I guess it depends on how Gier defines time travel, because the whole situation where we find out Charlotte is not the gene carrier, could have been avoided. Couldn't whoever she met in the past just inform those in the future (in the Annals?) of who the 12th time traveler was or at least give a description of what she looked like? Maybe it's a rule or something but I do hope its addressed; maybe I'm just thinking too much into it. What I LOVED about the book were the characters. Gwen is so funny and adorable! Gwen's BFF Lesley was great! She reminded me of myself the most, because the girl Googles everything just like me! I also love how understanding and supportive of Gwen. Apart from these two, my other favorite characters are the ghosts and Mr. George. Oh yeah, and the whole ghost thing. WHY WON'T SHE TELL ANYONE ABOUT THIS?! She calls herself ordinary to the circle of rude time travelers (whatever they're called) but she isn't! This ability has got to be related to the "raven powers" she is supposed to have but she won't tell anyone about it! Surely, if these people can believe that a gene can cause you to travel in time, then talking to ghosts really shouldn't be that big a deal. The only negative thing I can say about this book is that it was extremely predictable but that doesn't even matter because the book was FANTASTIC!

What I look Forward to in Sapphire Blue: Gideon better get his crap together and stop sending mixed signals to Gwen! I get that he's been brainwashed somehow but I'm hoping this gets fixed early on in the next book! The demon at the end! I kind of spoiled myself and saw that he was going to have a larger role in the series. Though barely introduced to him in Ruby Red, I already can't wait for more of him! Thirdly, I would like the whole doppleganger thing to be explained, which I'm sure it will, don't think I've forgotten about this Kerstin Gier! Oh yes! Last thing I can think of: Gwen NEEDS to find out that Gideon can read minds because its sooooo obvious!

Let me know what your favorite parts/scenes/character/etc. and this was my first book review so if anyone has any tips, I'd be more than glad to hear them! :)

'Waiting On' Wednesday #1

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating

I have soo many books that I am waiting for, so I'm just going to name one at a time, going in order!

Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky, #3)
Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi
Publication Date: January 28th, 2014
Publisher: HarperCollins

Why I can't wait: Will they make it to The Still Blue? What's gonna happen with Roar? How will Soren surprise me in this book? I love Aria and Perry and I demand more of them!

The Beginning of it All!

TBR for Christmas (Holiday) Break!

So now that I'm almost done with finals and before my brain has completely deteriorated, I've decided I'm going to try this blog thing out because I love reading and talking about books! I had a hard time deciding what to do for my first blog post, but since I have a TBR pile at home waiting for me to devour during Christmas break, I thought I'd start from there. I'm hoping to read at least 5 books during the break, one being a trilogy that I have just started! So let us begin! First, I'm dying to read the Ruby Red Trilogy by Kerstin Gier:

I'm about 100 pages (or am I 200?) in and I'm absolutely loving it! I adore Gwen and I need to know more about the mysterious Gideon who she may or may not have kissed in the past but in the future! (nice and confusing right?) The next books are the only books I have on my bookshelf that I have not read. There's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs:

Wake by Lisa McMann:

aaand (dramatic pause.......) Just One Day by Gayle Forman:

I won't do a synopsis only because I...uhm....have no followers yet....so yeah let's see how we'll I can do with this blog before getting to worried about making it perfect I will post the goodreads links for them so the summaries! (Apparently I can't figure out the plural form of synopsis)

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9460487-miss-peregrine-s-home-for-peculiar-children
Wake: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1661957.Wake
Just One Day: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12842115-just-one-day

To future me: Yes, this post is awful! You're still cool though. But that's coming from you. In the future, like 10 minutes into the future, so I'm not sure how cool that makes either one of us...

But yeah! Happy Holidays and Happy Happy Reading!
